Abstract
We examined guilt and shame trajectories across the perinatal period in mothers at elevated psychological risk. Multilevel models revealed substantial heterogeneity. Higher emotion dysregulation and lower pregnancy-related anxiety predicted steeper declines in guilt and shame. Findings inform understanding of guilt and shame trajectories and screening and intervention opportunities during pregnancy.
