Abstract
Trait moral disengagement predicted unethical behavior indirectly through perceptions of ethical misconduct. Psychopathy strengthened this indirect effect, whereas Narcissism weakened it; Machiavellianism showed no moderation. We found support for a moderated mediation. Personality and moral disengagement interact to predict how people view unethical behaviors and their own subsequent (unethical) behavior.
