Investigating Negatively Worded Items In Visual Analogue Scales

For Likert scale surveys, the inclusion of negatively worded items is commonly recommended, although the literature often shows such items introduce problems with estimation. The current study aims to investigate whether visual analogue scales, scored using the Continuous Response Model, can mitigate the effects of negatively worded items in surveys.
