Abstract
This longitudinal phenomenological study explores the identity formation and meaning making of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE nurses). Using two interviews (pre-training and post-experience), we examine motivations, embodied responses, and professional transformations required to integrate this existentially demanding role. Findings will inform training and support strategies for SANE retention.
