Abstract

We examined whether prosociality in youth with ADHD predicts levels of the “p-factor.” Using longitudinal multilevel modeling on 1,689 preadolescents, we found that higher baseline prosocial scores were associated with lower concurrent and future p-factor scores. Findings suggest prosocial behavior may protect against elevated psychopathology in youth with ADHD.
