Abstract
We investigated whether emotion socialization (ES) strategies typically deemed as “unsupportive” are viewed as maladaptive in Black adolescents. For Black adolescents, “unsupportive” ES strategies may not be associated with lower perceptions of positive parenting and negative mental health outcomes like in White adolescents.
