Familism Is Associated with Parent-Youth Intimacy In Mexican-Origin Families: The Moderating Role of Expressive Traits

This confirmatory study of sibling dyads from 121 families examined whether familism values were linked to parent–youth intimacy. For older siblings, familism was positively associated with intimacy with both mothers and fathers, but for younger siblings it was only linked to mother-youth intimacy.
