Accelerating Habits: The Role of Reaction Time Improvement In Habit Expression

Abstract
We investigated the effect of incentivizing reaction time improvements during training on habit expression under time pressure. Participants (N=60) completed a seven-day online experiment. While all participants demonstrated heightened habitual responding under time constraints, incentivized and non-incentivized groups did not differ in reaction time improvement or habit expression.
