Abstract
Utilizing think-aloud protocols, we investigate the incidence of different types of errors participants make when solving objective numeracy word problems. Results indicate that operational errors are more common than mathematical errors, and that components of verbal responses, like voicing negative opinions of one’s own abilities, correlate with certain error types.
