The Selective Transmission of Emotional Valence from Objects to Transient Episodic Representations

Emotional valence shapes representations from objects to events, yet how these influences extend across levels remains unclear. We show that objects’ valence is embedded in, and later retrieves, an episodic representation—an effect that varies with valence polarity and with whether the valence is conditioned or conveyed by schematic faces.
