Abstract

This study examines self-conscious emotional responses to use of generative artificial intelligence in a sample of Tennessee university students. We find a positive correlation between concerns about AI and guilt about using AI, but there was a negative correlation between generative AI use for schoolwork and guilt surrounding that use.
