Abstract
Eleven university students with mental disorders and no intention to seek treatment were interviewed. Reflexive thematic analysis was used to understand how mental health beliefs impacted help-seeking. Themes included preferring self-reliance, treatment feeling inaccessible, concern about others’ reactions, doubting problem legitimacy or severity, discomfort opening up, and scepticism about therapy.
