Abstract
Neuroticism, conscientiousness, and extraversion were tested as predictors of depression in a preregistered Turkish replication of prior findings from WEIRD and African populations. Neuroticism strongly predicted depression, but none of the two- or three-way interactions replicated. Results suggest depression was predicted primarily by neuroticism rather than complex trait combinations.
