Navigational Instruction for Different Map Types: Changes In Spatial Language and Gestures

We presented 46 participants (Mage = 22.11) three different map types: grid, radial, and irregular, and asked them to provide route descriptions from one location on the map to another. Results indicated that participants may produce specific types of gestures more on irregular maps as their spatial language production increases.
