Factorial Validation of the General Mistake Response Scale: Evidence for a Four-Factor Model

Abstract
We evaluated the factor structure of the General Mistake Response Scale (GMRS) using confirmatory factor analyses and split-sample cross-validation (N = 513). A four-factor model (defensive, deceptive, constructive, disengaged) showed moderate fit (CFI = .879, RMSEA = .067), providing initial structural validity evidence for this behavioral measure of mistake responses.
