Abstract
Across 21 EMA studies with diverse measures of social media exposure and affect, random-slope analyses—supported by converted MLM estimates—revealed small, non-significant associations with both positive and negative affect. Heterogeneity was substantial, underscoring the need for finer-grained, idiographic approaches to momentary SM effects.
