Academic Entitlement Influence on College Students’ Social Competencies

The present study examined how academic entitlement affects college students’ social skills and coping strategies. In a sample of 182 undergraduates, the main finding was that higher academic entitlement was linked to poorer social adjustment, greater use of maladaptive coping strategies, and reduced use of positive coping strategies.
