Assessing Punishment Sensitivity with a Novel Conditioned Punishment Task: Replication, but Limited Validity

This study replicated the Pirates and Planets task with a larger sample, identifying three punishment sensitivity profiles: sensitive, unaware, and compulsive. While profiles were replicated, they showed no associations with psychopathology or trait measures, suggesting limited clinical validity and emphasizing caution when interpreting cognitive task data as indicators of psychopathology.
