Abstract
This study examined whether political disagreement is another value difference or a unique social barrier. Surveying 500 South Korean adults, we found that politics, more than ethics/law or gender norms, predicted consistently low willingness to accept people who disagreed across relationships—from spouses to weak ties—making politics a rigid cross‑cutting boundary.
