Age Is Just a Number: Exploring Ageist Attitudes and Their Mental Health Correlates across Age Groups.

Ageism affects all adults and is associated with mental health. In a sample of 727, younger adults reported more positive aging expectations, while positive beliefs were linked to lower anxiety and depression. Findings suggest ageism occurs across the lifespan, highlighting the importance of addressing internalized stereotypes in mental health care.
