A Longitudinal Test of the Perfectionism Social Disconnection Model: Modest Effects Raise Meaningful Questions

Testing the Perfectionism Social Disconnection Model on a large national New Zealand sample (N = 26,502) over three years produced very small but statistically significant effects. Tests of an alternative, reversed model, provided partial support and even smaller effects. Results prompt questions about the practical value of the PSDM.
