Abstract
Grounded in psychological stress, Social Cognitive, and applied psychology frameworks, this study examines how municipal-level socioeconomic disadvantage and substance use shape criminal behavior across 308 Finnish municipalities from 1995 to 2023. Using longitudinal models, we hypothesize that structural strain and social learning processes jointly predict crime trends across Finnish municipalities.
