Past Behavior Is the Best Predictor of Future Behavior: Biographical Measure of Personal Initiative

We developed and validated a biographical measure of personal initiative capturing concrete past behaviors. On a sample of 1145 job seekers, the measure showed construct validity and predicted job satisfaction, engagement and career success. Our findings support using biographical assessment as a practical approach to measuring behavioral constructs.
