Adolescent Anxiety Can be Detected with a Few Questionnaire Items

Abstract
We tested detecting anxiety disorders with previously proposed abbreviations of the GAD-7 anxiety questionnaire among 759 adolescent psychiatric patients. Versions with two or three items detected any anxiety disorder or generalized anxiety disorder at least as well as the full seven-item measure, suggesting that they are sufficient for initial screening.
