Abstract
Using two-wave survey data collected before and after the 2025 presidential impeachment in South Korea, we found robust objectivity illusions across political groups. Attitude strength—more than partisan strength— predicted this bias. Objectivity illusion subsequently increased selective exposure and polarized interpretations of the impeachment outcome, moderated by hostile media perception.
