The Intrinsic Value of Self-Related Information: An Electrophysiological Approach to the Self Bias Effect and Reward Processes

To investigate the underlying mechanisms of self-bias, this study uses ERP in a perceptual matching task to make parallel comparisons between self and reward processes. Results from thirty-two participants (12 male, M_age= 22.11) revealed differential processes for self and reward stimuli, providing new evidence for the parallel processing model.
