Do Children’s Questions Reveal Their Domain Knowledge? Insights from Spatial Cognition In Full-Term and Preterm Groups

Preschoolers’ spatial questions were linked to their spatial reasoning. Preterm children showed a positive relationship between mental rotation and spatial questioning. Overall results revealed a quadratic pattern, with those who had moderate rotation skills asking the most questions. Findings suggest children ask questions most when their domain knowledge is developing.
