Older adults who frequently participated in both valued and enjoyable activities reported greater reductions in depression, anxiety, and loneliness after a stepped-care intervention, compared to those who engaged in activities that were neither valued nor enjoyable. However, this benefit diminished among those with moderate or more severe baseline symptoms.
