Abstract
Humans are able to generate correct answers intuitively, even for complex reasoning problems. This project tests whether such “sound intuitions” extend to scientific knowledge. Using a two-response paradigm and counterintuitive science statements, we examine intuitive accuracy, age-of-acquisition effects, and developmental differences to clarify when scientific concepts become intuitive.
