Abstract
Maternal emotion-focused coping mediates the relationship between difficulties in engaging in goal directed behavior and child emotional overeating; distress-focused coping mediates the relationship between nonacceptance of emotional responses and child emotional overeating (N = 178). Maternal and child self-regulation are intertwined, emphasizing the importance of promoting healthy self-regulation within families.
