Abstract
Contrary to prior research, latency and mouse-tracking analyses indicate that White perceivers’ categorization of White faces does not differ based on distinctiveness. However, highly distinctive features disrupt a typically efficient categorization of Black faces, slowing responses and eliciting more conflict in mouse trajectories relative to less distinctive Black faces.
