Beyond Screen Time: How Motivation, Platform Type, and Measurement Shape Social Media’s Relationships with Loneliness and Mindfulness

We explored the conceptualization of social media use (SMU) by comparing the relationships of objective SMU, self-report SMU, motivation for SMU and usage of various social media platforms with loneliness and mindfulness. Data was collected in a cross-sectional survey from 250 young adults (M_Age = 19.67).
