Protective Factors Differ By Family Nativity: Social Support and Children’s Mental Health In Immigrant and Native-Born Families

Abstract
This study explored whether the role of social support as a protective factor for child mental health differed by family nativity. In data (N=30907) from the NSCH, social support was less protective in immigrant families, demonstrated by smaller associations with child depression or anxiety, when compared to native-born families.
