Abstract
We investigated activities, motivations, and experiences associated with bedtime procrastination (BP; voluntary delay of bedtime despite the costs) among college students. Qualitative coding of open-ended survey responses revealed that BP, though often mindless, can also be purposeful and/or social, and emotional effects can range from regret and guilt to happiness.
