“Lying Flat” In China: A Conceptual Framework and Empirical Investigation into Social-Psychological Pathways

We propose a two-factor structure of “lying flat” and an integrative model of its cultural and psychological antecedents. This theory-driven framework is tested by developing and validating a two-factor scale and by evaluating the model across cross-sectional, longitudinal, and momentary experience-sampling designs in diverse samples.
