The Effects of a Self-Compassion Intervention on Public Speaking Performance Anxiety Among ESL Learners

Abstract
This study tests whether a three-week self-compassion writing intervention can reduce English public speaking anxiety in ESL learners. Using a two-condition pretest–posttest design, participants complete daily writing tasks and anxiety measures before and after the intervention. We predict that the intervention group will experience greater anxiety reduction.
