Abstract

Political rhetoric of authoritarian leaders - charismatic, the thug, and the situational was examined for (1) the persuasion tactics, (2) follower perceptions, and (3) follower perceptions under conditions of malevolence. Pennebakers’ Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) and ChatGPT were employed in the analysis of 44 influential authoritarian politicians.
