Abstract
Renewal is a relapse of challenging behavior following context changes. We analyzed 98 consecutive intensive-outpatient cases to evaluate its prevalence, magnitude, latency, and persistence. Renewal occurred in a substantial minority of patients, often emerging rapidly and persisting across sessions. Findings inform relapse models and clinical risk management.
