Abstract
Disgust learning reshapes memory for associated events. Across two category-conditioning experiments, disgust enhanced object recognition and generalized to past and future associations, yet impaired memory for foods paired with disgust cues. These findings suggest that disgust operates as a mnemonic defense system, biasing memory across temporal and conceptual contexts.
