Abstract

Exposure to sexualised social media content increased pornography desire and behavioural intention in a preregistered experiment (N = 857; 55% male; Mage=23.5). Meaningful content attenuated urges among men. Findings highlight how everyday online cues may act as risk factors for problematic pornography and social media use.
