Executive Function Is Poorer In Relation to General, Not Specific, Externalizing Behaviors

We examined the hierarchical structure of externalizing behaviors and examined relations between empirically derived lower-order factors and executive function, both with and without controlling for the higher-order externalizing factor. Poorer executive function was associated with general externalizing behavior, and not related to lower-order factors after controlling for the general factor.
