Abstract
We investigated how readers segment narratives into meaningful events using reading times, EEG, and semantic network analyses. Results show that pre- and post-event boundaries are associated with different behavioral and neural responses, coarse events occupy more semantically interconnected regions of the narrative, and greater reaction time slowdown predicts later recall.
