Abstract
Tennis is an open-skill sport possibly exerting positive effects on cognition. By systematically reviewing available evidence (Scopus, PubMed), we found that tennis players – especially if aged <12 years and practicing >12 months – exhibit enhanced executive functioning (i.e., inhibitory control, working memory, cognitive flexibility) and attention compared to non-athletes.
