Abstract

We tested whether people can transfer spatial and abstract 2D cognitive maps using AI-generated paintings in two decision making tasks. Among 76 participants, accuracy and RTs were similar across tasks, with no spatial-scaffolding advantage. Participants reliably used 2D distances and reconstructed both spaces, supporting flexible, transferable cognitive-map representations.
