Abstract
Emotion regulation strategies may influence memory for negative events. Drawing on the memory control framework, we shall test the effects of distraction and mindfulness on recognition memory for negative facial expressions in a film. Distraction and mindfulness may result in poorer overall recognition accuracy, relative to a passive viewing control.
