Abstract
Disordered eating patterns (ED) were related to gender, immigration status (first- vs. second-generation) and acculturative stress (AS). One hundred eighty-nine participants completed self-report surveys (α’s = .74 to .93). AS predicted ED. Females tended to internalize the thin-ideal. Family pressure about appearance was more severe for 2nd generation youths.
