Abstract

This study examined how scientific evidence and research attitudes influence theoretical orientation and clinical decision-making among Argentine psychotherapists. Data from 262 professionals showed that cognitive-behavioral therapists valued empirical evidence more than psychoanalytic ones, whose decisions relied on experiential sources. Age and workload predicted more conservative, less evidence-based attitudes.
