Abstract

Children segment continuous experience into meaningful events in ways that differ from adults, with significant relevance for memory performance. Using a movie-watching paradigm in a longitudinal sample, we examine the development of event segmentation and memory from ages 3-7. We expect age-related gains in memory and increasingly coherent, adult-like segmentation.
