Abstract

This randomized clinical study evaluates pecan’s antioxidant effects on brain health in individuals with mild cognitive impairment. Aims include 1) evaluating pecans’ effects on neurocognitive and psychological functioning; 2) studying intestinal permeability, gut microbiome composition, and microbiome-derived metabolites; and 3) exploring the mechanisms by analyzing circulating biomarkers of neuroinflammation.
