The Impact of Belonging and Connection on Chronic Absenteeism

Chronic absenteeism has educational consequences, both for academic performance and personal and social development. Chronic absenteeism is often a result of interactions between family, school, community, and individual actions. We will survey middle school students about belongingness, teacher connections, academic performance, self-esteem, and barriers to attendance.
